I finally got around to working on Liam tonight, and I'm so excited for him to be dry and ready to put back together.  Of course though, when I was checking something on his head I dropped it and not only chipped an eyebrow, but also got paint on it at the same time. O_o  Yeah, I'm that suave.  I think he'll be okay for now, but I'm keeping an eye on it.  Part of me kind of wanted to see about painting him over some day anyway, so I guess this just forced my hand.

Liam's new wig!

I received Liam's new Leekeworld wig in last week, and it's different than the picture, but still nice. It's much lighter, with the top hair much more blonde. I think they may have used the wrong color mix, which can happen. However it's grown on me, so it's good.

Real life has taken over!

However, I'm working on beating it back. ;)

A few little updates...  Connor's name is changing once again, I think to something final this time.  I realized that I really do have too many Connors as it is one of my favorite Irish names, and I didn't want to add another to the mix.  So instead we will go with a name I had been thinking about, but wasn't sure if I wanted to use...Liam. 

I received Liam's tiny props, guns and coins and such.  They are awesome!  Really detailed, and perfect size. He's got some very Saints guns, a nice "Rambo" knife, and a rifle just because.  The coins are also fantastic in size and detail.  They really look like shrunken down versions of real coins.

He also has a new wig arriving today.  I love the brown one he's wearing, but he needs some variety.  Fur is nice, but I found a beautiful Leeke wig for him that's part of their "custom" wig series.  Basically they combine two of their colors to create a new kind of wig, and have offered them up for purchase for a limited time.  It's just the perfect color!

I mentioned that I had bought Connor his very own Saints coat, as part of his cosplay/character.  It's adorable, I must say. :)

 

Next we have a project I've been working on for a while, but haven't taken any real pictures of until today.  It's a doll case that was made primarily for Gabe, but Connor looks cute in just about anything. ;)

The box itself is a sort of mini wooden suitcase from Hobby Lobby.  I loved the outside design so much that I grabbed it without having a really solid plan of what it might become.

Then I realized it would make a great, steampunk-esque doll case.  Specifically I was making it for Gabe (Volks SDC Arashi), who is supposed to be a vampire with the adorable habit of sleeping in a very large piece of luggage.  Not because he has to, but because it is safer for a vampire to sleep in something during the day, and this was what happened to be around at the time.  He took a liking to it and never let it go.

I bought some Victorian style scrapbook paper and used that as a background for the box (previously it was unfinished wood), and then glued various things on top of it.  Here you can see his framed Nosferatu picture, a snipped from the Dance of Death, a planetary diagram, a flattened/imprinted penny, and the beginnings of a world map.  These images were just printed on some stationary paper I had, and then ripped out to give them worn edges.

More posters here, and you can see the full extent of the world map at the bottom.  There are also Clash and Dropkick Murphy's posters on top.

Even more posters!  I printed out a diagram of Firefly's ship Serenity for kicks, a tiny version of "Lunch on a Skyscraper," and a miniature Voltaire poster from a show that was on my birthday.  On the bottom there is a picture of a Davinci sketch.

Just one last bit of detail here, I included a Fleur de Lis, as well as some miniature Mardi Gras bead.

Just bought some tiny pennies and a bunch of scale weapons for Connor.  Expect a photo shoot when everything comes in. :)

Whoa, blogger has a new look.  Weird.

In other news I've been having a crazy, stressful, exciting, insane time lately.  Hence the lack of updates.  But I have been sewing a lot for Connor, which is a plus.  I love having a doll so small, sewing is a breeze.  I can hand sew just about anything I want. :)  So I've made him some punky plaid pants, a white t-shirt, and a black vest so far.  I bought all sorts of goodies to make him some iron-on t's, and at least one Irish-inspired outfit.  I hope to take some pictures this week as it's sunny and almost warm out.

Also, Connor's Boondock coat arrived, so now I just have to make him a little rosary and we're good to go. :)
