Just bought some tiny pennies and a bunch of scale weapons for Connor.  Expect a photo shoot when everything comes in. :)
Whoa, blogger has a new look.  Weird.

In other news I've been having a crazy, stressful, exciting, insane time lately.  Hence the lack of updates.  But I have been sewing a lot for Connor, which is a plus.  I love having a doll so small, sewing is a breeze.  I can hand sew just about anything I want. :)  So I've made him some punky plaid pants, a white t-shirt, and a black vest so far.  I bought all sorts of goodies to make him some iron-on t's, and at least one Irish-inspired outfit.  I hope to take some pictures this week as it's sunny and almost warm out.

Also, Connor's Boondock coat arrived, so now I just have to make him a little rosary and we're good to go. :)

More Connor spam!

I've decided to give into my fangirl tendencies and just name him Connor Murphy MacManus. ;) So here's some new pictures of Connor this evening, after I finished the pants he's wearing. Ignore all the junk...everywhere lol.

Reunited my camera and it's cord. :)

First, a couple of pictures of Gabe with his prior face up which I shall return him to soon.

And my cute new little guy. I'm not quite sure what his name is yet, though I'm sorely tempted to name him Connor Murphy MacManus. ;)

Realization

I think that one of the things I love most about dolls, and perhaps toys in general, is that I am no one but myself with them. It sounds funny I'm sure, but it's true. Short of my dog, there is no one else I can be so open with.

I never feel like I have to be anyone in particular with my dolls, unlike with many people. I don't have to be happy, or sad for that matter. I can get completely lost in my own world, and that's fine. I don't have to act or think in a certain way, because none of that matters to them. They are an escape for me, to a place where I can just be myself. And that is extremely refreshing. :)

Painting again!

Doing face ups is probably one of the most enjoyable parts of the hobby for me, followed closely by making clothes and accessories for the dolls. Art is calming, and I find that painting and customizing my dolls is a great way for me to relax and process through creativity at the same time.

As usual I'm repainting Gabe again. I liked this last face up, but I wanted to change a few things on it. I think he needs to have some more natural tones for wigs and such, so I'm going to fiddle with it. I'm keeping his character-specific marks and expanding.

I got the new boy's eyes in today, and they're beautiful. I have this mad love for glass eyes, and these ones are just stunning. They're from Mint on Card Inc. and are a pair of blue-grey with looping lines inside. So beautiful in person. I also got some of his clothes and a pair of leather boots in for him too, but no doll until next week. It's funny to have such cute little clothes and nobody to wear them.

I'm still undecided if this little guy will in fact be a small version of Gabe, though that's what I'm leaning towards. Then my mind started writing this other story.... We'll see. :) I'd kind of prefer a little miniature Gabe, not so much as a child version but just a smaller, slightly more portable version.

And now I'm off to listen to some crazy dubstep and paint!

It's happened again...

I bought (or am in the process of buying rather) another doll. In my defense he's an adorable Volks Yo-SD, and I really miss having one. :D

Terrible excuse, I know.

I suddenly started having this need for a smaller doll, which doesn't happen often. I'm more of a larger doll kind of girl. However, I was perusing through some Yo-SD pictures, and I remembered the Suzuna I used to have... And then I found a Yo/Tenshi hybrid in the MP and put a down payment. And then I bought clothes, and shoes, and eyes.

The funny part is that all of his stuff will arrive before him. :P I'm hoping to finish my short layaway by Monday and maybe have him out for next week if all goes well.
