Still alive!

And still on hiatus, for at least a little while longer. :) My new job is going wonderfully, but my commute is around 4-ish hours round trip, which leaves no time for actual doll projects.  I do hope to take some photos here and there, but I don't think there will be regular updates here for a while yet.  At least not until I settle into work and hopefully find a new apartment. :)

It's a good thing this blog isn't a living thing, or I'd be charged for neglect. :/

Thankfully my reasons for being away are mostly good.  Two very good friends of mine got married, and I was sort of overtaken by wedding prep and parties.  There were dress fitting parties, pre-wedding party parties, a day of pampering with the bride, the wedding, pre-honeymoon party, and finally a post wedding party.  All of which were very fun, but I kind of pushed everything else to the side for those weeks (month?!).

But I'm back now, though without much to offer up.  No new photos of the boys yet, or even any projects.  I've been fairly lazy.

The one thing I have been doing is playing and singing a lot of music, both original and cover songs.  I actually have a lot written about Uri's storyline, and a little bit about Ghost.  But I don't have much of that recorded.  Instead have a video of me playing one of the song's on Uri's mix: Sympathy for the Devil!

Uri's New Face

With the steampunk convention coming up I new I needed to update Uri's look a bit.  I decided to go for something basic, with a little twist.  He's not Egyptian at all, but I love the symbolism of the Eye of Ra.  It's also meant to be a bit ironic...  Ra being a sun god and all, and Lucifer (Uriel's brother) being the brightest star.  I also changed out his eyes, though I'm not sure if I'll keep these.

 

I gave him a manicure as well, mostly because I love painting doll hands.  He's got a French manicure with black tips, as befitting the fabulous demon he is. :)

  

Anniversary

Tomorrow will mark the one year anniversary of Uriel coming home (aka his first "birthday)! I hope to get out and take some pictures with the birthday boy and Fumi, as I've been quite remiss so far. The decimation of my computer by that virus really knocked me for a loop. I lost everything, doll photos and Haunted Vessel pieces included. :(

However I am starting to get back on my feet and I expect to feature a few HV pieces at once for your reading pleasure. :)

Back from hiatus/vacation finally!

I'm back! Life tends to throw me curve balls when I least expect it...often right before I have a planned vacation as well. So here I am, refreshed and ready to blog once more!

This post will just be a "coming attraction" for the next few weeks. I've got Fumi pictures uploaded and ready to go, new pictures of Uri in his Vocaloid outfit, a traveling Vessel doll report, and a jewelry review! Not to mention the fact that October is fast approaching and that means the Haunted Vessel shall return with weekly posts. So keep your eyes peeled...or don't because that sounds positively gross. :P

Updates All Around

I'm almost done with Crow's clothes, so it won't be long before I can get some pictures. I'd forgotten how little MSD boy clothes I had. And Crow doesn't really fit into Michael's attire, so he needs some new pieces. The shirt is pretty much done but his pants are proving to be difficult. The fabric I bought is just right, but it stains something awful even after being colorfasted.

On the bright side he's quite a little charmer. :) I'd forgotten just how much I love MNFs. SD are great, but they're often far too big to take anywhere frequently (at least my SDs), and aren't as comfortable to hold. The smaller dolls are also cute, but again just not the right size. Crow fits perfectly in my arms and isn't too much to tuck in a purse or carry around by hand. And their body/joint system is fantastic. He is easily my best poser of the whole group. :)
