The good, the bad, and the dolls.

Things have been relatively quiet on the doll front for me lately, with the exception of me finally getting the tan RS Song I've drooled over for forever.  Which was admittedly the product of a small "fun fund," a very stressful week, and a 1AM visit to Denver Doll's website...

Which means I now have two Songs, just in different colors. I was looking to trade my WS Song, however it appears he has some damage I was unaware of when I initially looked at trading him.  He looks fine in artificial light, but in daylight there are some scratches on his legs that are fairly visible. I think they're fixible if I wanted to sand him (though I'm not sure I want to find out how yellowed he is), but they're definitely not something I feel comfortable trading with.  I like to make sure dolls are in tip-top shape when I trade them, which usually involves a few different evaluations and a bath before I let them go. And unfortunately he doesn't pas muster. :(

So I have two Songs and a little inspiration of what to do with them, so we'll see if that pans out.  It's unfortunate I can't trade him, but I suppose if I'm going to keep him, I should do something with him.  Potentially pictures to come!

This is the third or fourth time I've started to write a post, so hopefully I can actually complete it this time!

Waiting for a doll is always a bit nerve wracking, especially when the character already seems to be here. It's like the poor boy is floating about disembodied, wondering where his shell is. :P And I completely forgot that because of the holiday, he might not arrive until Saturday. Or Monday... :O

But I suppose that gives me a little more time to get my act together regarding clothes and whatnot. I really don't have a lot of MSD sized clothes, but I'm sure I'll find something. Also I may be working out a deal to get a smaller version of him as well. A CH Hanael is up for trade in the DoA market place and she would make a lovely young "he." So if all works out I might have Paks young and Paks younger.

Hello, goodbye?

I have been trying to work my MNF Seorin to be Paks, but alas it's just not clicking. :( So...I revisited another idea I had about getting a different doll to be him. If all goes well I will most likely be trading for a Volks MSD FCS boy, which I am head over heels for! I love the Volks immature MSD bodies, and this boy is just darling. I love their chubby innocent faces that say so much. I think it would give Paks the young look he needs, but I'm not ruling out the doll becoming another character instead. Either way he would be lovely. I will be trading out my Volks Suzuna because although she's fantastic, I do *nothing* with her.

So for the Seorin...I don't know yet, we'll see.

Trades are fun!

The picture I posted late last night after some fevered DoA PMs is of my soon to be new boy. :) It all started when I put Paks (my Soom Chrom) up in a trade post. Alas, Chrom just didn't turn out to be what I thought he would be, and we were drifting apart... :P He's been in his box forever now, and I just didn't see things changing between us.

At the same time I realized that if I were going to get another doll someday, it would be a Delf El. El has been a favorite mold of mine for...well forever. Any boy doll that I'd seen that made me go"I want my dolls to look like that!" turned out to be an El. And lo and behold after I put up my trade thread, a user PMed me to ask if I'd consider a modded El. She had had one up for sale for some time but had no buyers. I said sure, why not.

And then it hit me, instant dolly-love. Not just dolly love though, dolly karma. A character I've been dancing around with for the past few weeks came right out and said "mine!" So I had no choice, trade it is! :)
